The Amref International University (AMIU) is a hub of scholarship dedicated to Community and Public Health in sub-Saharan Africa, scaling training of health workers through virtual teaching and learning (e/mLearning).
Training in unique health disciplines, e.g., Rehabilitation Medicine, Leadership Management and Governance (LMG) in Health, designed according to need.
Provision of extensive practice-based learning through community and public health projects of Amref Health Africa.
The seat of AMIU is on Langata Road, Nairobi, at the current location of Amref Health Africa HQ and the Amref International Training Centre (AITC).
The Amref International University (AMIU) has close collaborations and partnerships with several universities, health training and research institutions worldwide.
This allows our students, faculty researchers and administrators to maintain a vital exchange of ideas, scholarly materials and information to create lasting academic and personal relationships.
Some existing collaborations include Nairobi University, Moi University, USIU and Kenya Methodist University in Kenya. On the international scene, the AMIU has existing and budding collaborations with Universities of Pretoria, Ryerson, Robert Gordon, Utrecht, Alberta, among others.
The University continues to pursue intensive strategic partnerships with other world class universities regionally, internationally and locally to continuously enhance its value proposition.
The Amref International University (AMIU) is accredited by the Commission for University Education (CUE) in Kenya.
