Target Group
The course is ideal for Frontline Healthcare Workers, including those in the fields of Medical, Community Health, Pharmacy, Clinical, Nursing, Laboratory, Nutrition, Counseling, Public Health, Physiotherapy, and Occupational Therapy.
The course objectives are to:
- Improve healthcare workers knowledge and skills in infection prevention and control practices.
- Train healthcare workers on how to limit human to human transmission including reducing secondary infections among healthcare workers, other patients and close contacts.
- Equip healthcare workers to identify, isolate and care for patients early including providing optimized care for infected patients.
- Acquire skills for carrying out COVID-19 surveillance before outbreak.
- Understand the principles of infectious disease modelling and critiquing existing African and Kenyan SARS-CoV2 models.
