Dr. Lucy Njiru

Dr. Lucy Njiru is a Lecturer with over 9 years psychology and mental health teaching experience in institutions of higher learning. Dr Njiru holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Daystar University, a Master of Arts with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Michigan University (USA), a Post-graduate Diploma in Control and Management of HIV/AIDS from Kenyatta University, and a Bachelors in Education from University of Nairobi.

She coordinates the Advanced Diploma in Applied Mental Health Practice program at AMIU. Lucy is an author of a book chapter focusing on mental health and displaced populations. She has also authored papers in peer reviewed journals. Her research interests are in mental health, and, efficaciousness of Western-based psychotherapies in African populations. Lucy is also a seasoned clinical psychologist practitioner.
