Fees charged for the programmes is very competitive in the region and offers room for a flexible within-semester-payment plan. Those on scholarship can have a case-by-case flexible payment arrangement plan with the scholarship management that allows agreed scheduled payments.
Overview
The 2-year academic programme aims at producing transformational, innovative, knowledgeable, competent and ethical public health practitioners who have the ability to address public health challenges in countries across Africa for the realization of lasting health change at different levels.
The course is implemented using modular delivery where 2 units are taught in every 3 alternate days before starting another set of 2 units. Teaching is followed with end of semester examinations.

Registration
A Student may proceed to register only upon receipt of a provisional admission letter from Amref International University.
Time limits for this programme The MPH course takes a minimum of two academic years of two sementers each translating to 18 calendar months of study and a maximum of 4 academic years or 36 calendar months. Any continued study after the maximum 36 calendar months shall attract extra fees payment upon submission of an acceptable justification or automatic discontinuation for failure to achieve timely completion of the programme.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the programme, the graduate will be able to:
a) Apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the implementation of public health programs at national and international levels;
b) Design, plan, implement and evaluate school health programmes in Kenya and the region;
c) Develop innovative public health nutrition programmes linking with other sectors to advance mainstreaming public health nutrition for disease prevention;
d) Apply appropriate epidemiological techniques and methods to conduct research that will contribute to policy and practice in the region;
e) Demonstrate and promote professional ethics, appropriate values, and attitudes in public health management and research.
f) Design and conduct a research thesis on track relevant public health problem and publish an article in a peer reviewed journal
Why this course?
The demand for well trained experts in public health to contribution in addressing the existing gaps in the health systems of Africa is still there following a comprehensive feasibility study. The school health and safety track is unique and timely in the region as it offers to train a unique cadre that is better prepared to address the emerging health and safety challenges in learning settings. The design and delivery of the programme ensures timely completion and graduation of the students. The units are taught by a team of academicians who also have long experience in the public health industry deliberately anchored on Amref Health Africa emperical field programmes to which the students may time and again access for their field practicums.
