The Department of Community Health exists in order to meet the gap in the training of Public Health Practitioners in Africa.
Our Story
The department is fondly referred to as the “founding department” of the university.
On 1st August 2017, the Department of Community Health became a fully-fledged department of the Amref International University
Mission
To offer quality training and research in order to produce competent community and Public Health practitioners who will inspire lasting change.

The department teaches, carries out research and extension services to the students, partners and the communities that we serve.
