Course Overview

The overall goal of the programme is to equip the learner with knowledge, skills and competencies to be able to integrate human sexuality and reproductive health and related rights from international, regional and domestic perspectives into programming, policy and researcg for socio-economic development.

Background
Amref International University (AMIU) in partnership with Mastercard Foundation, under the
Africa Health Collaborative (AHC) Program, invites suitable candidates to apply for any of
AMIU’s three listed postgraduate degree Programmes at the institution’s School of Public
Health. AMIU, a premier Pan-African university of health sciences education, is committed to
bridging the human resources for health (HRH) gap by training the next generation of health
professionals equipped to meet Africa’s pressing health needs. Successful candidates will be
part of a networked cohort of highly skilled experts in respective fields with increased

MODE OF DELIVERY AND DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME

Course Duration: 2 Academic Years
Intakes: January, May and September | Mode of Delivery: Part-time (Virtual) – (Monday-Friday; 5.30PM – 8.30PM)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Entry Requirements
i. Relevant Bachelor’s degree recognised by Amref International University Senate; OR

ii. Any other qualification as recognized by Amref International University Senate.

All International undergraduate students upon admission should submit their certificates to Commission for University
Education (CUE) for recognition.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Apply knowledge of human sexuality, reproductive health and related rights, based on global perspectives to develop evidence-based interventions to improve the well-being of the most vulnerable populations
Analyze policies and legal frameworks addressing sexual and reproductive health and rights
Apply knowledge of socio-cultural contexts to identify strategic interventions for sexual and reproductive health and rights
Analyze the role of international and regional policy frameworks in addressing sexual and reproductive health and rights

CAREER PATHWAYS

Graduates particularly work for NGOs or ministries of health, influencing policy and programmes.
