Amref International University (AMIU) Signs Training Partnership With Nairobi West Hospital

On 11th February 2019, Prof Marion Mutugi, the Vice Chancellor of Amref International University (AMIU) and Mr. Sukhmeet Sandhu, the Chief Executive Office of Nairobi West Hospital (NWH) signed an agreement to establish a training partnership for the Higher Diploma in Intensive Critical Care Nursing (ICCN). The University will provide classroom teaching, clinical instruction, and quality assurance while the hospital will offer clinical placement and preceptorship.  The one year academic programme accredited by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK), will target registered nurses who will provide quality critical care to intensive care unit patients.

The Amref International University which is fully owned by Amref Health Africa, joins the few institutions training in this specialized area. This is one more program that AMIU offers in order to inspire lasting health change in Africa.
