AMIU to Participate in AHAIC 2025
AMIU is poised to demonstrate thought leadership at the Africa Health Agenda International Conference AHAIC 2025. Its faculty, researchers, and students will participate in impactful discussions and innovative side events. East Africa Region Global Health Security Summit 2025 (EARGHSS 2025)

From January 28-30, AMIU partnered with Amref Health Africa and co-hosted EARGHSS 2025 in Mombasa, Kenya. Areas of concern on the keynote stage included, among others, pandemics, response to bioterrorism, and improving global health security through academia. Prof. Tammary Rotich participated in this critical panel that called for updated research and innovation for the achievement of health security.

H.E Uhuru Kenyatta, Former President of the Republic of Kenya applauded AMIU and Amref Health Africa at AMREF’s booth at EARGHSS 2025, for commitment towards strengthening Community-Led Initiatives in improving health.

Knowledge Exchange with University of Virginia

The event was led by Prof. Anne from the University of Virginia, USA, leading a delegation to an enriching knowledge-sharing session with students and faculty at AMIU. A link between African and American health education that may produce future leaders in global health.

EARGHSS 2025 Pre-Summit Meeting
Prof. Tammary Rotich presided over a preparatory meeting for EARGHSS 2025 to ensure that program planning is efficient, the logistics are right, and both AMIU and Amref Health Africa participate strategically.


Student and Alumni Stories

Historic CME Event for Physiotherapists
The AMIU-APS (Association of Physiotherapy Students) conducted Kenya’s first ever student-organised CME in collaboration with the Kenya Society of Physiotherapists. This historically important step shows the commitment of AMIU to novel student-centered initiatives in health-care education.

Partnerships and Collaborations
CDAE Dissemination & Closeout Workshop

AMIU, in collaboration with Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University, graduated 15 epidemiology fellows from Malawi, Tanzania, Somalia, Zambia, and Kenya. These are the fellows who shall revolutionize Africa’s public health through high-level research and policy development.

Community Outreach
AMIU Open Day – A Resounding Success!
AMIU hosted an Open Day that offered career guidance, interactive tours, and insight into our state-of-the-art health science programs. The event reemphasized AMIU’s position as a leading health education institution in Africa.

Achievements and Milestones
– Expansion of Research and Capacity Building Efforts: AMIU continues to expand its research initiatives through regional and international collaborations.
