Section 1: Featured News

Customer Service Week

From October 7–11, we celebrated Customer Service Week, focusing on recognizing the dedicated service of our staff, students, and partners. Each day was marked by themed dress codes and community events, reflecting our commitment to a welcoming and supportive university environment.

 

Mental Health Awareness Day

On October 10, AMIU joined the world in observing Mental Health Awareness Day, focusing on the theme “Mental Health at Work.” Our Advanced Diploma in Applied Mental Health Practice continues to prepare future leaders in mental health, empowering them to advocate for well-being in workplaces and communities alike.

Future Global Partnerships and Health Sciences Discussions

As AMIU’s leadership advances discussions at the Times Higher Education World Academic Summit, we look forward to exploring collaborative research and healthcare training initiatives with The University of Manchester. Stay tuned for more developments in these international partnerships.

Environmental Stewardship at Northlands Campus 

As part of our Customer Service Week, AMIU students, the Kenya Scouts Association, and KCB Group participated in a tree-planting event at the Northlands Campus. This event showcased our commitment to sustainability, climate action, and community-driven initiatives.

Section 4: Student and Alumni Stories

Empowering Youth Through Knowledge

AMIU staff and students brought joy to Lang’ata Primary School on October 9 with an outreach program focused on health education. Students engaged young learners on the importance of hygiene, providing them with essential supplies and learning materials.

Alumni Bite:

Faith, a proud AMIU graduate in Community Health Practice, highlights the university’s strong reputation, practical fieldwork, flexible learning, and global networks. AMIU’s focus on African health issues, experienced faculty, and mission-driven approach equips graduates for impactful careers in community health. Faith’s AMIU experience empowered her with the skills and network needed for a successful career.

Section 5: Partnerships and Collaborations

Conversextion Project – Kenya and Spain Unite for Sexual and Reproductive Health

Throughout October, AMIU’s collaboration with Spanish partners, including Amref Salud África and Fundación Sexpol, promoted SRH awareness under the #Conversextion project. This initiative is fostering cross-cultural conversations on SRH, aiming to empower youth and advocate for their health rights.

Strengthening Healthcare Education with The University of Manchester

AMIU hosted representatives from The University of Manchester for strategic meetings on collaborative opportunities. Together, we aim to bolster healthcare education, research, and community outreach efforts across Africa.

Scholarship and Empowerment Initiatives

On October 24, AMIU welcomed Mary Jane Potter, who generously committed to a scholarship and endowment fund to support young women pursuing health education. Her contribution reflects AMIU’s dedication to empowering students through accessible, quality education.

AMIU Ranked Third in Kenya by Times Higher Education

We are proud to announce that AMIU is now ranked #3 in Kenya. This recognition underscores our commitment to academic excellence, an inclusive teaching environment, and a vibrant student community from diverse backgrounds.
