Diploma in Community Health (Level 6)
Course Overview
This course prepares learners to effectively deliver and coordinate community health services, focusing on disease prevention, health promotion, and improved community well-being. It also builds competence in primary health care, health systems management, and the implementation of evidence-based community health interventions.
Course Duration: 2 academic years (7 trimesters)
Mode of Delivery: Modular, on campus (Monday – Friday)
Intakes: January, May, and September
An individual entering this course should have the following minimum requirements:
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) overall mean grade C- (minus)
and in addition to have met in the following Cluster subjects:
- English/Kiswahili C Minus,
- Biology/Biological science D+,
- Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Physics /Home science D
or
- Level 5 qualification in Community Health
or
- Any other qualification equivalent to that of Community Health Level 5 as determined by TVET regulators and any other relevant professional bodies
Or
- Any other international qualifications should get approval from the Kenya National Qualification Authority (KNQA)
Examination & Certification: TVET CDACC
Upon completion, the student qualifies as a Community Health Assistant; and can pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health,
Environmental Health, or Medical Social Work programmes amongst others as determined by Kenya National Qualifications Authority
(KNQA).
