Course Overview

The Diploma in Nursing (EN/M and KECHN to KRCHN) offered by Amref International University is an advanced upgrading programme designed for practicing Enrolled Community Health Nurses (KECHN) and Enrolled Nurses/Midwives (EN/M) seeking to grow their careers in nursing. The programme blends theoretical knowledge with practical clinical training across four comprehensive modules: Pre-clinical and Clinical Sciences, Midwifery and Reproductive Health Sciences, Nursing Research and Community Health Nursing Sciences, and Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing. This course equips learners with the skills and competencies required to take up expanded roles in clinical practice, teaching, management, and research within diverse healthcare settings including hospitals, humanitarian sectors, and community development organizations.

MODE OF DELIVERY AND DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME

Course Duration: 2 Academic Years
Intakes: May and September | Mode of Delivery: Blended Learning (Monday-Friday; 8AM – 5PM

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Nursing Council of Kenya Certificate: ENM/ ECHN
2 years post diploma working experience
Nurses/ midwives trained outside Kenya and licensed by council must seek clearance from Nursing Council of Kenya before progression.
