Migration and Displacement Action Plan for Sub-Saharan Africa. Developing policy-oriented research on Migration and 2. Displacement in the Sub-Saharan Region

Background
The MAPS project is a multi-country research initiative aimed at strengthening policy and programming on migration and forced displacement in Sub-Saharan Africa. Implemented across ten countries, the project addresses critical knowledge gaps by generating original data, engaging first-line practitioners, and focusing on vulnerable groups such as women, children, minorities, and persons with disabilities. Through a participatory research approach and mixed-method studies, the project explores themes across peace, people, planet, and prosperity. Key outputs include knowledge products, digital platforms, stakeholder forums, and capacity-building programmes to support early-career scientists and foster informed, inclusive, and evidence-driven responses to migration and displacement challenges in the region.
