Advanced Nursing Education Fund

Amref, with funding from Johnson and Johnson (J&J) Foundation, have partnered with the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) to set up the Advanced Nursing Education Fund. The Fund focuses on supporting and strengthening frontline health workers, through among other strategies training and education. It aims to bridge gaps in the training of Nurses and Midwives at the specialization level and targets the in-service health workers specializing in all medical courses.

Amref International University (AMIU) was established in 2017 as a Premier Pan African University of health sciences, fully owned by Amref Health Africa.

AMIU’s focus is on training, research and extension in health sciences with emphasis on promotive, preventive, rehabilitative and palliative health.  Our mission is to develop a competent workforce and evidence that drive access to equitable access to primary health care across Africa.

AMIU calls for qualified candidates in Kenya to apply for partial tuition scholarships of 40% of the academic year’s fee for the following programmes:

  • Bachelor of Science in Health System Management and Development
  • Bachelor of Science in Community Health Practice

Twitter Scholarship – Health Journalism And Communication Programme

Amref International University (AMIU) in partnership with Twitter offers full scholarships to
Health journalist to do a short course on Health Journalism and Communication at AMIU.

The course fee is KES 80,000/USD 800 and the programme will be offered virtually to
successful applicants. The aim of the course is to enhance knowledge, build skills and nurture
competencies of journalists, Public Relations Officers and health managers on all aspects related
to health reporting.

THE VICE CHANCELLOR’S SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship fund was initiated by the Amref International University Management Board (UMB) to enable deserving students in financial need achieve their academic goals.

The fund has been established in recognition that many of us benefitted from the goodwill and support of others.  Members of the UMB take pride in their accomplishments and wish to Inspire Lasting Change by giving back to society.

The UMB welcomes sponsors and well wishers who may choose to support students in general or of gender, programme of study or any other description.  Any amount you give will make a big difference to a needy student.
