Eastern Africa Regional Health Security Summit (EARGHSS) 2026 Hosted at AMIU

AMIU proudly hosted EARGHSS 2026, convening leaders from academia, government, and industry to advance resilient, future-ready health systems.

  • Day 2: Advancing local manufacturing to reduce Africa’s dependency on imported vaccines and essential medicines.

Countdown to the 2nd Primary Health Care Congress (4–6 March 2026)

Registration momentum continued for the PHC Congress under the theme:
“Redesigning Primary Health Care: Building Resilience Amidst Global Uncertainty.”
Early bird registrations closed on 20 January 2026, with strong engagement from youth, students, and health professionals.

Global Academic Exchange – University of Virginia Visit

AMIU hosted a delegation from the University of Virginia, strengthening academic exchange and collaboration. A keynote lecture by Advocate Dona Anyona explored SRHR, maternal and child health, and policy discourse around the FGM Bill in East Africa.

Novo Nordisk Fonden Leadership Visit

The Board Vice Chair of Novo Nordisk Fonden visited AMIU’s Nursing Skills and Simulation Centre, engaging with faculty and students and reviewing advancement plans focused on strengthening nursing education and digital learning innovation.

Welcoming the January Cohort – Class of 2026

AMIU officially welcomed its January 2026 cohort during Orientation Week at Northlands Campus. Led by the Registrar – Academic Affairs, the week introduced students to academic life, institutional values, and support systems that will guide their transformative journey in health sciences.

Sports Spotlight – #TheStalwarts

AMIU Men’s Team secured a commanding 3–0 victory over Riara University, reflecting discipline, resilience, and teamwork both on and off the pitch.
