Amref International University Ranked 4th in Kenya in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025 

Amref International University (AMIU) has been ranked 4th in Kenya in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025, reaffirming its commitment to advancing sustainable development through health sciences education, research, innovation and partnerships. 

The results of the annual rankings were released on 18 June 2025 during the Times Higher Education Global Sustainable Development Congress. The THE Impact Rankings assess universities worldwide against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), recognising institutions that demonstrate measurable impact through teaching, research, stewardship and partnerships. The 2025 rankings evaluated 2,526 institutions from 130 countries and territories. Western Sydney University retained the top position 

In Kenya, Amref International University ranked fourth, alongside other top-performing institutions including the University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University, Murang’a University of Technology and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.  

AMIU’s placement among Kenya’s leading universities reflects its growing contribution to addressing health and development challenges across Africa through transformative education, impactful research and strategic partnerships.
